Upscale video to 4K without uploading it

Acuta upscales video to 4K on your own graphics card, in Chrome. The clip is read from your disk and written back. It never leaves your machine.

Why not generate at 4K?

Cloud upscalers need the upload before they can start, then charge per minute. For footage under NDA or a security policy, the upload is the blocker. Acuta removes it: the work runs on hardware you already own.

How it works

  1. Choose the clip

Read from your disk. Any aspect ratio, at least 720 pixels on the short edge, up to 10 minutes.

  2. Check three frames

Model beside plain upscale, at actual pixels, before anything renders.

  3. Export to your disk

There is no server in the chain.

Questions

What does this site send?
One short hardware report, after a notice with a Don’t send button, and an email only if you type one. The privacy page lists every field. The extension sends no hardware report.
Can security review it?
Yes. The privacy page is written for that reader. Enterprise plans add source review.
How long does it take?
A 30-second export takes at least 2½ minutes on an M3 Max, plugged in, a floor, not a promise. Plug in: on battery, Apple silicon runs roughly an order of magnitude slower.
How good is it?
It slightly over-sharpens the mid-tones on video, by 8–10%. That was measured, never resolved, and not investigated, and it can read as a synthetic crispness on skin and on gradients when you look closely on a big display. Nobody has run a review of logos and small type, so check your own in the preview before you sign off.
